The Europa League continues on Thursday night with the third group stage matches of the 2017/18 season commencing. The Acca Tips team have located what we believe to be incredible value in our football tips tonight, finding a fantastically priced double from Zenit v Rosenborg and Dynamo Kiev v Young Boys.
Here are our selections for this Thursday’s Accumulator Tips double:
Roberto Mancini’s Zenit St Petersburg are one of the most progressive sides in Europe this season, making heavy transitions from the stale side that finished in third place in the Russian Premier League last season. A plethora of ambitious young signings, including talented Argentinian stars Emmanuel Mammana, Leandro Paredes and Sebastián Driussi, has seen the Lions charge to the top of the Russian Premier League, as well as their Europa League group.
In their opening 12 league matches, Mancini’s men have remained unbeaten with eight wins and four draws. At the Krestovsky Stadium, Mancini’s side currently have a superb record of four wins and one draw. Adding Europa League group stage matches to this, Zenit have won 10 of their 14 contests, including five wins in six home matches.
Their opponents on Thursday are Rosenborg, who pulled off a superb two-leg victory over Ajax to reach this stage of the tournament. Kåre Ingebrigtsen’s side are top of the Norwegian Eliteserien by a clear nine points at the time of writing, but their competition certainly isn’t groundbreaking. With six draws and three losses, the same as they achieved throughout last season, Rosenborg look likely to finish on less points than last term with six games left to go.
The Norwegian’s were victorious in their last Europa League match against Vardar, but their opening match at Real Sociedad was a 4-0 training ground exercise for the Spaniards. That match was all-but-over at the half-time whistle with Sociedad up 3-0, while Thursday’s opponents Zenit have already disposed of Sociedad in Russia. That 3-1 victory was also all-but-over at half-time as Zenit lead 2-1. Of the aforementioned six home matches, Zenit were winning at both half-time and full-time in four of them and the value in backing that same outcome here is too appealing.
Take the 10/11 for Zenit/Zenit in the HT/FT market in your Betfair accumulator. This simply means we need Zenit to be leading at half-time and at full-time for our bet to be successful. With prolific domestic stars like Artem Dzyuba, Aleksandr Kokorin and Sebastián Driussi in the attack, we’re massively confident that the Russians will get the job done.
Our second selection takes us to the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium, where Dynamo Kiev are looking to maintain their place at the top of their Europa League group against Swiss side Young Boys. The hosts are currently second in the Ukrainian Premier League, languishing just four points behind an impressively consistent Shakhtar Donetsk side. Aside from having a comical name, Young Boys are actually quite a proficient side, topping the Swiss Super League, but failing to win any of their opening Europa matches against Skenderbeu and Partizan Belgrade.
Kiev have stormed to the top of the group in the early stages with goals aplenty, firing three past each of the aforementioned sides in respective 3-1 and 3-2 victories. Though superstar frontman Andriy Yarmolenko moved to pastures new with Borussia Dortmund in the summer, Alyaksandr Khatskevich’s team are exactly that – a team. Their leadership in Tamas Kadar, Domagoj Vida and Yevhen Khaceridi at the back gives confidence to young, exciting goalkeeper Maksym Koval, while the connection between the likes of captain Serhiy Sydorchuk, Denys Harmash, 19 year old rising star Viktor Tsyhankov and striker Dieumerci Mbokani allows for a goal glut from all angles.
The visitors look set to miss their prolific frontman Guillaume Hoarau once more for this match, making an already difficult task much harder. Kiev have already won eight of their nine matches on home soil this season and the slight odds-on price here is very appealing. Do not hesitate to back Dynamo Kiev at 13/19 with 888sport to continue their strong European form.
