Already seeing action from the Championship we look ahead to the upcoming fixtures. Gameweek one saw goals in every game that was played. In this preview, we will take a look at the game between Norwich City and Sunderland A.F.C. We at Accumulator Tips have picked out two key bets ahead of the Championship match-up.
Norwich City were relegated from the Premier league back in 2016 and have been attempting to get back to top flight football in England ever since. Last season The Canaries finished eighth in the Championship. Just missing out on a playoff spot. They did score 85 goals in their 46 games proving a point that they have attacking prowess within their side.
The first game Norwich featured in this season was against Fulham away at Craven Cottage. Norwich were 1-0 down but Portuguese striker, Nelson Oliveira came off the bench to equalize with just a few minutes left. A result that ended 1-1 was seen as a positive than anything else.
Sunderland A.F.C were recently relegated from the Premiership after many years of constant relegation escapes. They fell victim last season and now serve time in the Championship. Their first game this season was played at the Stadium of Light against Derby.
Lewis Grabban got the only goal from the penalty spot in the first half after Bradley Johnson got the first goal of the game for Derby County. The game ended at 1-1. Just under 30,000 were in attendance to watch the game and Sunderland will at least be pleased that they didn’t lose.
Norwich come into the fixture off the back of a win. A 3-2 victory against Swindon at Carrow Road will be key for any momentum that they need. They have no injuries to worry about. Steven Naismith will be back in contention after a previous three-game ban which he has already served.
Sunderland boss Simon Grayson will be hoping to get the upper hand on Norwich this Sunday and earn their first win in the Championship this season. As for injury updates, The Black Cats’ list is starting to look better. Bryan Oviedo is close to returning back to full fitness and returned back to training just like Jack Rodwell has done.
The only other player that is out injured is Josh Maja. So there are no major worries or concerns for Simon Grayson ahead of the fixture against Norwich.
