Bundesliga Predictions 22/09/17
We’re in gameweek 6, and a few managers are starting to feel the heat. Peter Stöger is yet to pick up a single point with his FC Köln, and will desperate to get a win, or even a point, away to newly-promoted Hannover. All content here has been written by Martin Skuggevik Foss, however all predictions are researched and selected solely by our dedicated Accumulator Tips team. Here are our Bundesliga football accumulator predictions for this week:
Bayern Munich v Wolfsburg
Bayern Munich continue to be without Alaba and Bernat, while Neuer and Thiago have joined them this weekend as Neuer face a lengthy spell on the sideline with a broken bone in his foot. Wolfsburg miss Brooks, Bruma and Gomez, but have no new injury concerns. Bayern might make a host of changes here ahead of their away trip to Paris where they face PSG in the Champions League next mid-week. A rotated Bayern should, however, have little trouble dealing with Wolfsburg at home as they’ve won all their last 20 matches against them at home in all competitions. Bayern have been winning at half-time and full-time in eight of their last nine home matches in the league. They also hold a fantastic record at home to the bottom six sides in the league. 18 of the last 19 matches have been won. Wolfsburg on the other hand have lost seven of their last nine away to top six sides. Robert Lewandowski scored five goals against Wolfsburg in 2015. Can he do something similar today?
Prediction: 3-0
Accumulator Tips suggests: Bayern to win at half-time and full-time – 53/100 with Betvictor
Mainz 05 v Hertha Berlin
No new injury concerns for either side as they still have the same players out with injury. Mainz are coming off a very disappointing loss at home to Hoffenheim where they led 2-0 before Hoffenheim turned it around, and saw Mark Uth score the winner in injury time. There’s been under 2.5 goals in all six of Hertha’s last away matches, while the last four matches between the sides at Opel Arena have seen two or less goals. However, Hertha’s away form is worrying. They’ve not been used to picking up wins away from home in recent seasons as they’ve only won one of their last 12 away matches in the league.
Prediction: 1-1
Accumulator Tips suggests: Under 2.5 Goals – 67/100 with Betvictor
TSG Hoffenheim v Schalke 04
Hoffenheim will finally have Serge Gnabry fit to play after being injured. Nagelsmann confirmed in the pre-match press conference that Demirbay is out with a torn muscle fibre, and Bicakcic is set to be out for a longer period. Adam Szalai is still out, but the Sinsheim outfit have plenty of attacking players to pick from so they should be fine. Hoffenheim are without a defeat at RheinNeckarStadion since the 2015/16 season. A great record which they are looking to uphold this Saturday when Tedesco’s men come to visit. Schalke, meanwhile, only have Schöpf to worry about as the rest of the squad is injury-free. If Gnabry is to come into the starting line-up it would be very harsh on Mark Uth to be benched after scoring six goals this season, leading the line for Hoffenheim as the top scorer.
Prediction: 2-1
Accumulator Tips suggests: Hoffenheim to win – 5/4 with Betfair
RB Leipzig v Eintracht Frankfurt
Naby Keita is sitting out this match after his red card at home to Mönchengladbach. Leipzig have no other player out. Frankfurt have no new injury concerns, but continue to miss the important trio of Meier, Fabián and Mascarell. They did, however, beat FC Köln at the RheinEnergieStadion, albeit from a very harsh penalty and a host of Köln chances. This will surely be the test of the season thus far for Niko Kovac’s men as Leipzig are a different beast at home even without Naby Keita. Leipzig do have a Champions League match in Turkey in the coming week as they face Besiktas so Leipzig manager, Ralph Hassenhuttl, might be tempted to rotate here.
Prediction: 2-0
Accumulator Tips suggests: Leipzig to win to nil – 2/1 with Coral
Werder Bremen v SC Freiburg
Werder Bremen welcome back Moisander, but are without Bartels and Junuzovic. Freiburg are still without a host of players, and new signing, Yoric Ravet, sits out the third and last match of his suspension. Freiburg have had over 2.5 goals in nine of their last 11 away matches in the league, while Werder Bremen have seen over 2.5 goals in seven of their last ten at home to bottom six sides. Both sides will be desperate for points here, and it’s likely that we’ll see goals here.
Prediction: 3-1
Accumulator Tips suggests: Over 2.5 Goals – 13/20 with Betway
VfB Stuttgart v FC Augsburg
Augsburg are without Daniel Baier, who got a post-match suspension after footage showed that he made an ill-mannered gesture towards Ralph Hassenhuttl in their 1-0 win over RB Leipzig in the mid-week. Stuttgart continue to be without Badstuber, Gentner, Ginzcek, Mane, Insua and a few others. Augsburg hold a decent record against their opponent here as they’ve won all their last seven matches against them. Augsburg have seen over 2.5 goals in seven of their last nine away matches to promoted sides in the league. Finnbogason have scored four goals for Augsburg so far, and will be hoping to add to that ally in this match.
Prediction: 2-2
Accumulator Tips suggests: Augsburg to win/draw – 4/5 with Betvictor
Borussia Dortmund v Borussia Mönchengladbach
Both teams have a fairly long injury-list here as Dortmund miss Schürrle, Reus, Rode, Schmelzer, Bartra, Toljan, Guerreiro and Durm. Gladbach are without Grifo, Traore, Drmic, Sommer, Strobl and Doucoure. Dortmund hold an impressive run of 36 home matches without defeat in the league, and have won ten of their last 11 home matches against Gladbach. They’ve also been winning at half-time and full-time in ten of these matches. Dortmund are yet to concede a goal in the league, which is bettered by no team in the top five leagues in Europe. Gladbach will have to be at their very best to get something out of this match. In the last five matches between the sides there’s been 22 goals so it’s likely we’ll see a few here as well.
Prediction: 3-1
Accumulator Tips suggests: Dortmund to win at half-time and full-time – 11/10 with Betvictor
Hannover 96 v FC Köln
Köln only have Jonas Hector out, while Hannover are without Felipe, Jonathas, Schwegler and a few others. Köln are still without a single point this season, and the pressure is on for this match. There’s been under 2.5 goals in six of the last seven outings between the sides, but Köln have seen over 2.5 goals in nine of their last 11 away matches in the league. They’ve also conceded at least two goals in eight of their last ten away matches. Köln will be desperate for Anthony Modeste’s replacement, Jhon Cordoba, to hit the ground running in this match and get the first goal of his Köln career. Should Hannover win here then Peter Stöger will surely feel the pressure from both the fans and the board room.
Prediction: 1-0
Accumulator Tips suggests: Under 2.5 Goals – 7/10 with Bet365
Bayer Leverkusen v Hamburger SV
Leverkusen beat a terribly poor Freiburg 4-0 in their last home match before they were beaten by Hertha Berlin at the OlympiaStadion 2-1. Leverkusen continue to struggle as they did last season. Hamburg are still without Müller, Kostic and van Drongelen. Ekdal and Hunt are doubt for the match. In the last five matches between the sides there’s only been one match where both teams have scored. Leverkusen have won all five of their last home matches against Hamburg. There’s also been over 3.5 goals in seven of Leverkusen’s last 11 home matches in the league. Hamburg have lost eight of their last 12 away matches in the league so all is set for Leverkusen to get three vital points here.
Prediction: 2-0
Accumulator Tips suggests: Leverkusen to win – 2/5 with Betway
