The Must Visit Premier League Stadiums For An Away Day

The excitement of promotion from the Championship as a fan is always the away days to look forward to. For Nottingham Forest fans especially next season that’s going to be the case, with an entire generation of fans at the City Ground having so far missed out on top flight football.

That’ll change next season, and for any fans wanting to enjoy Premier League away days next season, no matter who they support, there are always fixtures that we look out for. But what are the Premier League away days you should really be looking forward to this coming season?

Craven Cottage

Firstly, we’re going with newly promoted Fulham. Not only is it one of the most traditional grounds in the country, it’s packed with history, is a friendly place to visit, and the ground has recently gone through a transformation on the riverside end of the ground.

The new Riverside Stand looks a real classy addition to the ground and it’ll only add to what is always a great matchday experience at Craven Cottage.

Anfield

Even the most ardent Manchester United fan wouldn’t deny that Anfield is a rather special and intimidating place to go. The home of Liverpool, it’s long been associated with its atmosphere, especially on a Champions League night and for any fan it’s one of the top spots to go on an away day.

Just don’t go expecting to come away with three points…

Villa Park

Another historic ground to visit is Villa Park, home of Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa side. It’s been the home of the side since 1897 and the approach to the ground and the red brick really is something special. What’s more, there are some great pubs around the ground, and neighbouring Birmingham has plenty to offer too. It’s a great away day and being in the middle of the country, you’re not having to trek from one end to the other either.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

For a slice of the future, then the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should be at the top of the bucket list for next season. It’s got all the mod cons and is easily the most impressive modern stadium you’ll visit in the UK, if not Europe and the world.

You’ll drink beer brewed on site, enjoy a wide range of food, while the design of the stadium also plays into a good atmosphere, which, let’s face it, you don’t really get with many new-build stadiums.

St James’ Park

While it may not be the best away day in terms of views and facilities (you’ll be placed at the highest point in the stadium), a weekend in Newcastle is certainly not to turn your nose up at.

Not only are the Geordies mad on football, they are a friendly bunch and if you behave yourself it’s a great pre and post match atmosphere in the city, and with all the investment going on at Newcastle it’s likely we’ll see plenty of additions to the ground over the coming months.
