Here are our selections for Sunday 8th April’s Accumulator Tips:
Back Arsenal -1 – Arsenal v Southampton – 25/19 with 888sport
Arsenal return to the Emirates Stadium for the third time in a week with Mark Hughes’s Southampton the next opposition.
The Gunners have bagged successive 3-0 and 4-1 wins over Stoke City and CSKA Moscow in North London and looked mighty impressive in the process. Club record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bagged himself a brace in the former, while their second-biggest acquisition Alexandre Lacazette has found the net three times across the two games.
While Arsene Wenger is evidently intent on winning the Europa League above earning an unlikely top four Premier League spot, Arsenal’s impressive form cannot be understated and a positive run can do wonders all-around.
Southampton are sitting in 18th place at the time of writing, picking up just two points from a possible 15 of late. The Saints failed to impress in Hughes’s second game in control at West Ham last time out, succumbing to a dismal 3-0 defeat.
While their away record isn’t the sole reason for their dramatic decline, Southampton have been dreadful for the most part on their travels. At top five sides, they’ve picked up one meagre point at Manchester United, losing the other four with just three goals scored and 11 conceded.
Were the league determined by home form alone, Arsenal would be third in the Premier League right now. With 12 wins from 16 at the Emirates, Wenger’s men have enjoyed home comforts more than Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham only dropping points against the former two of three and both Manchester clubs.
The hosts have won all 11 of their matches against the ‘other’ 14 opponents, winning by more than one goal on eight occasions and we fancy them to repeat the feat here.
Back Arsenal to surpass the -1 handicap against lightweight Southampton at an outstanding price of 25/19 with 888sport.
Back Valencia to beat Espanyol – 1/2 with Betfair
Valencia are on the verge of sealing a Champions League return and another home fixture against Espanyol provides them with an excellent opportunity to extend the gap between themselves and Villarreal to 18 points.
Los Che have been sensational since Marcelino took over from club legend Voro and much of that is owed to their strong record at the Mestalla. Remarkably, their only failures have come against fellow top five sides Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Villarreal so far with a tally of 11 wins from 11 against the ‘other’ 15 teams.
Espanyol have seen a slight upturn in form since Quique Sanches Flores committed to the club despite interest from Stoke City, moving 15 points and five positions above the relegation zone. Much of that, however, is down to a superior home record, earning just one win on their travels and taking only 10 points from 42 on offer.
The visitors are missing key midfield spine Victor Sanchez and David Lopez for their daunting trip to Valencia and suffered a humbling 3-0 defeat to Real Betis in their away venture even with captain Sanchez in the mix. Valencia have won seven of their last eight league contests and look poised to make it 12 wins from 16 on home soil.
Back Valencia to continue their outstanding Mestalla form with yet another home win at 1/2 with Betfair.
Our Sunday double of Arsenal -1 and Valencia currently offers odds of 13/5 with Betfair at the time of writing. A £20 stake could net you an outstanding total of £70 if successful! Follow the link below to get involved.
