888bannerBack Tottenham -1 – Stoke City v Tottenham – 5/6 with 888sport

Stoke City are looking increasingly likely to be playing in the second tier for the first time in 10 years next season. Don’t expect in-form Tottenham to go lightly on them at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

Spurs recovered from Champions League heartbreak against Juventus with successive wins over Bournemouth, Swansea and Chelsea, reaching the FA Cup semi-finals and cementing their fourth place position in the Premier League.

Their sensational 3-1 win over Chelsea came despite top goalscorer Harry Kane only being fit enough to start on the bench – he returns to the fold for the visit to Staffordshire. Kane has found the net 24 times already this season and his record against the Potters in recent years is an immaculate eight goals in four games.

Tottenham have the second best away record in the division, possessing a tally of W5, D2 against bottom-half sides. In comparison, Stoke’s home record is the fourth worst record in the division with W5, D4, L7, including defeats to Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

The hosts have a dismal record of W1, D1, L8 against top six sides, losing three games back-to-back and failing to take three points since way back in January. Sitting in 19th place, the outlook looks incredibly bleak for Paul Lambert with relegation now chalked up at a best price of 3/10.

Stoke have already allowed a whopping 61 goals past them, with Spurs firing in five in a 5-1 triumph earlier this season. Infact, Spurs have beaten the Potters by four goals exactly in their last four contests (three 4-0 and one 5-1 win). Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won by more than one goal in five of their last six matches and the -1 handicap offers incredible value at 5/6.

Back Tottenham to beat the -1 handicap against lowly Stoke at a very fair 5/6 with 888sport.

betfair 1Back Blackburn Rovers to beat Southend United – 1/2 with Betfair

It’s not been the smoothest season imaginable for Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers, but the Lancastrians are edging closer to a swift return to the Championship. Victory over Southend United can keep Rovers at the top of League One with just six games to play, despite tight competition from Wigan Athletic and Shrewsbury Town.

Luckily, Blackburn are the form side in the division right now, failing to win just seven of their last 20 league contests. With a record of W12, D6, L2, Rovers possess the best home record around with four wins from their last six at Ewood Park. Mowbray’s men have won seven of their last nine outings, last tasting defeat at the hands of Plymouth during the dawn of February.

Loanee striker Adam Armstrong has fired in five goals in four contests of late, while Bradley Dack, Danny Graham and Charlie Mulgrew have picked up the pieces otherwise.

Southend have recovered from a dreadful run of form since Chris Powell replaced Phil Brown, sitting pretty in 12th place after relegation worries had begun to creep in. While recent results had undoubtedly improved, a 4-0 tonking away at Plymouth Argyle could give the Shrimpers a taste of what to expect at Ewood Park.

Southend currently possess the division’s second worst away record, losing 11 of 19 trips with only rock-bottom club Bury bettering that abysmal tally. With Rovers on the promotion charge and United’s season all-but-over, it would be a huge surprise if the home side didn’t take the full three points.

Back Blackburn to continue their hot streak and maintain their spot at the top of League One at 1/2 with Betfair.
