League One Match Result Odds & Predictions – 30 July, 2022
Following an exciting end to the League One season, we’re back already with plenty of drama having occurred during the summer as the likes of Derby look to bounce back and Forest Green Rovers look to continue their progression.
It’s going to be a thrilling start to the season and as usual we’ve pulled together some of our favourite fixtures to back across Saturday July 30…
Game of the Weekend: Derby County v Oxford United
Derby to beat Oxford at 6/5 with 888sport
All eyes will be on Derby County this weekend as they look to get used to life in League One, and they take on an Oxford side are tipped to be knocking on the door of the play-offs come the end of the season.
Liam Rosenior will be keen to get off to a good start, and his County side are favourites to get the win at Pride Park, priced at 6/5 with 888sport. We’re backing them to do so as the club looks to kick off this term positively both on and off the field.
Ones To Watch
We’re keeping tabs on all the teams looking to earn promotion this weekend, with some good games to back in an accumulator. However, it’s first game of the season though, and as we know, anything can happen…
Sheffield Wednesday v Portsmouth
Sheffield Wednesday to beat Portsmouth at 3/4 with 888sport
Sheffield Wednesday are favourites to earn promotion this season and they’re expected to get their campaign off to a comfortable start against Portsmouth. A long trip to Hillsborough for the south coast side, Pompey can be backed at 17/5 but it’s a difficult fixture against a side who have been particularly active in the summer transfer window.
The Owls are priced at 3/4 with 888sport and we’d expect them to enjoy a similar result to what we saw on the last game of the 2021/22 season when the pair met.
Ipswich Town v Bolton Wanderers
Ipswich to beat Bolton at 19/20 with 888sport
Ipswich too are right up there amongst the favourites for automatic promotion after working hard in the transfer window. They’re odds on in this one, against a Bolton side who finished mid-table last time out.
Priced at 19/20 with 888sport, we’re backing the home side to get off to a good start in a game where there could be plenty of goals. Wanderers are priced at 27/10, but it will be a difficult one for them to get anything out of.
Cheltenham Town v Peterborough United
Peterborough to beat Cheltenham at 5/4 with 888sport
The Posh will be looking to bounce back to the Championship following relegation last term and they’ve managed to keep their core squad in order to do so. A side amongst the favourites for the automatic spots, they’re 5/4 with 888sport to pick up the three points on their travels against a Cheltenham side who are looking for a successful second season in League One.
Despite home advantage, they’re priced at 19/10 with the bookmaker, and we are backing Peterborough who will be one of the sides to beat this season.
