Zlatan Ibrahimovic Could Rejoin Manchester United as Early as This Week
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will sign a new Manchester United to rejoin the club after making a speedy recovery from injury, according to ESPN’s Andy Mitten.
The Swedish striker is a free agent after he was released by United in the summer following a serious knee injury sustained in a Europa League game against Anderlecht in April. The injury was expected to keep him sidelined until the new year, but the 35-year-old had hinted that his return would be sooner with several social media videos showing off his rehabilitation.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain forward has been using United’s AOT Training Centre and it is claimed that both he and Jose Mourinho want him to stay at the club.
According to Mitten, Mourinho was impressed with Ibrahimovic’s personality and sense of leadership last season which, along with his 28 goals, made him an invaluable member of the squad.

LA Galaxy reportedly made overtures to sign him earlier this summer but it is Ibrahimovic’s desire to resign for United and help re-establish them as a force in both the Premier League and Champions League.
It is thought that Mourinho feels there is a place for Ibrahimovic despite the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, who has replaced the Swede as United’s main striker. However, with the Portuguese coach determined to fight for four trophies this season, he is aware that Ibrahimovic’s added firepower would be a useful asset throughout the season.
