Fantasy Football Gameweek 1: Our Top Picks
We’re back! Yes, the Premier League season is almost upon us and alongside our Premier League predictions, each and every week we’ll also be bringing you our top fantasy picks.
Week one is all about building your squad but still having your eyes on that very first set of fixtures. There are some interesting games to open up the season, so who should you be selecting in your side?
Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal)
Costing £8million, Gabriel Jesus is going to be on the wishlist of a lot of fantasy football managers this coming season. He’s going to be the main man up front for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and with the pair having worked together before, he’ll know how to get the best out of him.
Arsenal open the season against Crystal Palace away from home, and while that’s not the easiest of starts, we’d back Jesus to get off the mark quickly.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
You know you’re going to get clean sheets and assists with Trent Alexander-Arnold so you may as well get him in from Gameweek 1. He’s costly at £7.5million, but he’s guaranteed points. The Reds take on Fulham first up, where they could be seriously dangerous, so we’d back Alexander-Arnold to get off to a flying start.
Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
He doesn’t come cheap, but do goals ever? Haaland is the player to watch this season and while they have a tough start in West Ham, you’d be backing the Norwegian to be bagging almost every week.
He’ll be the player many build their fantasy team around, and rightly so. Alternatively, you’d be looking at Mo Salah or Harry Kane, who will be equally as lethal this season.
Kai Havertz (Chelsea)
Chelsea were heavily reliant on Kai Havertz last season and he’ll continue to grow into his attacking role as he gains more experience. He’s well priced at £8million for a forward, so you can save some money on him and if Everton continue this season in the same vein of form as last, he could be a good addition for Gameweek 1.
Luis Diaz (Liverpool)
Diaz proved his worth in the Community Shield last week and will be one to watch this season as he looks to fill the shoes of Sadio Mane. He’ll need to hit the ground running, but we do back him to. The youngster is £8million and could be a solid addition to your midfield.
He’s guaranteed games, and most likely goals too…
